Adolescent Services
Lotus Behavioral Health offers a youth-centered, strengths-based approach to care. Adolescents are encouraged to actively participate in their treatment. Adolescent services include comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, and crisis interventions. Lotus Behavioral Health collaborates with local psychotherapists, educators, and pediatricians to offer multidisciplinary treatment planning.
Treatment Process
Your doctor will meet with your parents to obtain your developmental, medical, academic, and social history. Part two of the assessment will entail a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment recommendations. You and your parents will be educated on the common signs and symptoms of your diagnosis and given treatment recommendations, which may include medication. Psychotherapy is often recommended in combination with medication management. Your treatment will be tailored to your unique needs to promote wellness and recovery.
I’m Going to See a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist: Now What?
This comic book was created in 2017 through the collaboration between two child and adolescent psychiatrists and AACAP’s Youth Connection. The comic was written by a group of youth with lived mental health experience. It is a hypothetical depiction of a first appointment with a psychiatrist to encourage other youth to seek help.
